Colorado Custom Elevator & Lift Inc. is looking to hire an elevator modernization mechanic to become a part of our rapidly growing company. We are a local, family owned and operated, full service Elevator Company specializing in installations, both commercial and residential, maintenance and service on existing equipment, as well as modernization and repairs. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive/unload new equipment and prepare work site for safe installation procedures
  • Review project drawings and confirm all hoistway and machine room dimensions
  • Perform all installations tasks for turnkey operation (from acceptance of delivery through turnover to owner)
  • Manage Assistant Technicians and ensure a safe work environment
  • Liaison between job superintendents, supervisors and office
  • Maintain accurate drawings and project records
  • Ensure all components are available on site prior to need and plan work sequence to avoid downtime
  • Prepare punch list information for general contractor and office use

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • 3-5 Years as a modernization mechanic for both electric and hydraulic elevators
  • Clean/valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to various work sites from Montauk to Manhattan & New Jersey
  • OSHA 10 Course/Training completion
  • Thorough knowledge of Layout Drawings
  • Thorough knowledge of a variety of manufactures of structural equipment, controllers, signal/fixtures and door equipment
  • Ability to layout hoistway and car wiring risers and allocate wiring to all devices
  • Ability to start up, test and adjust all elevator equipment in preparation for inspection and or turnover to owner
  • Ability to communicate effectively with assistants, job superintendents, supervisors and office to include through knowledge of all elevator component terms
